As the Arctic warms, polar bears face a growing risk of contracting viruses, bacteria and parasites that they were less likely to encounter just 30 years ago, research has revealed.
The Endurance shipwreck spent 107 years submerged in Antarctic waters before being rediscovered and later scanned in 3D.
In his keynote speech for the Arctic Circle Assembly, the Chair of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer expressed his concerns about Russia’s continued military build-up in the Arctic and the growing (military) cooperation between China and Russia, also in the Arctic region.
Satellite images show the area covered by vegetation has grown dramatically and is now 10 times larger than it was four decades ago and the rate of change is speeding up.
